Sea of Thieves: here comes the limitation of matchmaking for the controller and other news

The always active Joe Neate of Rare, executive producer of Sea of Thieves , today released a new Developer Update in which he talks about some news that will come in the title pirate who has had in recent months a large peak of popularity among streamer and its viewers.

Joe began firstly pointing out how Rare does not tolerate any form of bullying (gender, age, sexual orientation, race, etc) in the title, and that in recent days the team has banned some people following a report (of course verified) of this type. If in other games this behavior is tolerated in Sea of Thieves never will be.

The Executive Producer has then addressed the issue of cross-play pointing out like this is very important and has allowed the title to break down certain barriers. But this also creates a problem as the disparity between people using the pad and those who play with mouse and keyboard, differences that are likely to increase with the arrival of update PvP Arena ; that is why the team decided to introduce an option that will allow those who play on the console using the pad to limit matchmaking to only players using the same control system. The change will remain out PC gamers (whatever the used control system) and those who use a mouse and keyboard on Xbox; These will not be able to decide, at least initially, to confront players which have a control system "at par".

The change will require a significant effort of the developers to redesign many of the aspects related to matchmaking, including communication, but are convinced that this is the best choice. Joe has confirmed that when they don't know how long it will take to implement it, but their goal is to introduce this feature before the arrival of Arena .

After this he returned to talk about the next update, which will introduce many small changes and improvements to the combat system; the team has in fact made condo that various weapons at your disposal, from cannons to swords, needed some modifications to work best and the new update, currently subject to the Pioneers for the finish of the case, in addition to eliminating some annoying bugs like the " double gun " aims to change this aspect through various interventions and balance many small changes. Of course developers are aware that it might take a while for the players to adapt to change, and do not rule out further intervention to improve some aspects, always based on the feedback and data that will be collected.

Joe has finally concluded by recalling that the next week will fly to Seattle to attend some meetings and, of course, to be host of Inside Xbox during which revealed all the details of the next update (which will oblige the players to redownload from the title from scratch but halving the size ) but not only. We will also disclose some information about future expansions and future projects of Rare. We look so forward to February 5, direct waiting to learn more about the new features coming in the game!
