The God Slayer, a new oriental Steampunk Action-RPG coming to Xbox

The authors of My Time at Sandrock and My Time at Portia, Pathea Games, surprised everyone by announcing their next title: The God Slayer, a third-person Action-RPG that mixes action, gods against humanity and a steampunk fantasy setting with strong oriental influences. The title, in development for two years, has been unveiled with a long gameplay trailer and will arrive on Xbox and PC.

The God Slayer is set in Zhou Kingdom, an urban capital city in the midst of a technological revolution. Here andwe will experience a responsive steampunk metropolis full of airships, monorails, steamboats and steam vehicles. In this scenario, the social gap is clear : while the wealthy classes enjoy luxuries such as air conditioning and mechanical washing machines, the majority of the population toil in factories dirty with soot or are oppressed by the privileges of the nobilitytag.

The plot will see us embark on a gripping campaign, guided by a story of revenge, full of interesting characters and twists and turnstag. Our goal will be to overthrow conspiratorial gods to bring justice to the world , choosing our allies and inspiring the people of the citytag.

The title focuses on dynamic combatin which we can customize our fighting styletag. A crucial element will be the ability to combine the elements of water, earth, metal and fire to unleash powerful attacks and weapons , and to bend the surrounding environment to our will, both in battle and outsidetag. The trailer shows, for example, the interaction with the environment , where you can use an elemental power to move roof tiles and make an enemy slidetag.

The missions of The God Slayer will allow us a multiple approach. We won't be forced to face all enemies head-on : we can pay the guards to be put aside, use elemental powers to create distractions, or explore hidden side paths to reach the goaltag.

The game represents a decisive change of tone for Pathea Games , which moves from the more "cartoonish" art style of the My Time series to a grittier and more realistic aesthetic, with a more serious and gloomy atmospheretag.

At the moment a release date has not been communicated, but we can show you a full-bodied gameplay trailer; Here it is below!
