Warhorse confirms: the new Kingdom Come will be an RPG, still doubts about the Deliverance in the title

Warhorse Studios has finally cleared up a doubt about the new Kingdom Come announced a few days ago: the announcement in fact mentioned "a new Kingdom Come adventure", and some had interpreted this phrase as the possibility that it could be an action-adventure rather than a real RPG.

During a recent Community Stream dedicated to Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, director of communication at the studio, however, clarified that both projects in development (Kingdom Come and The Lord of the Rings) will be open-world RPGs. So we now know that we can expect an experience consistent with the series' roots, although the exact title and specific setting have not yet been revealed.

However, there remains an unknown factor regarding the title of the game: Warhorse has so far never explicitly mentioned "Deliverance" as part of the title of the new game, in fact the official announcement only speaks of a new "Kingdom Come". This choice could indicate that the new game may not carry the number "3" in the title and not be linked, from a story point of view, to the plot of Deliverance, focusing on completely new characters and locations.

To support this new phase, Warhorse has redefined its creative structure. Prokop Jirsa, former Lead Designer on Kingdom Come: Deliverance II veteran of the studio for over twelve years, will lead the team of the new medieval chapter as creative director. Viktor Bocan, a historical figure with fifteen years of experience and former Design Director of the same title, will instead supervise the project in Middle-earth. Meanwhile, the studio's co-founder and Creative Director and writer of the first two games, Daniel Vávra, is gradually moving away from day-to-day development, to also devote himself to film adaptation, while maintaining an advisory role on the evolution of the license.

The studio's final message is clear: Kingdom Come remains a key pillar and will continue to expand beyond the video game, with a team of around three hundred people still deeply involved. We just have to wait for further updates to find out all the details on the next chapter of the series!
