The Alighieri Circle: Dante's Bloodline shows itself in a new gameplay trailer
The focus of the experience is detached from the classic vision of Dante's Inferno full of demons and pure action. As pointed out by Creative Director Emanuele Miccianza, their interpretation of the work focuses on the intimate journey of the protagonist, starting from the idea that Hell is a completely inner dimension. Game Director Gaia Righelli added that the type of terror they wanted to convey is not the fear of dying, but that of being observed, since there is nothing scarier than a dark entity capable of understanding us deeply.
Within this tense and mysterious scenario, we will take on the role of Gabriele Alighieri. Every thirty-three years, the boundary that separates our reality from the underworld dissolves, and to protect the world and loved ones, we will have to return to our ancestral home to perform a procedure known as "The Ritual." To do so we will have to accept a fate from which the protagonist has tried to escape all his life. During our journey we will have to explore two converging realities: the first is La Villa, an Italian manor characterized by silent and melancholic corridors, while the second is The Immersion, a demonic distortion that will make us cross the threshold of the infernal depths.
In order to keep the gates of Hell sealed, we will be called upon to collect the lost magical pages of the Divine Comedy and solve a complex series of esoteric puzzles. It will be an exhausting psychological journey that will force us to look Gabriele's most deep-rooted traumas and phobias in the face. Carefully exploring the environments we will also have to scour the area in search of collectibles and hidden diary fragments, fundamental elements to reconstruct the forgotten memories of the protagonist, reveal the tragic history of the Alighieri lineage and fully understand what is the real price to pay for the Ritual.
We leave you with the new trailer; enjoy!
