GSC Game World reminds us that the first major expansion dedicated to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is officially available starting today. Entitled S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope, this new and massive content is shown to us with a launch trailer, which immediately plunges us back into the unmistakable atmosphere of decadence of the Zone, where even in the darkest situations a small glimmer of hope manages to make its way.

The new adventure, with a strongly non-linear structure, will guarantee us dozens of hours of unpublished gameplay by experiencing events parallel to those of the main campaign. We will once again take on the role of Skif and we will find ourselves in the middle of a conflict resulting from the end of a fragile truce. In fact, we will witness the clash between two of the oldest factions in the territory: on the one hand Duty, determined to destroy and contain the Zone considering it an absolute threat, and on the other Freedom, convinced instead that this place is a priceless gift to be studied and exploited for the greater good.

Throughout our journey, we'll meet ambiguous characters and experience disturbing stories as we explore iconic settings such as the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant and the intricate paths of the Iron Forest, while also pushing us into mysterious and completely unknown territories. To survive the lethal anomalies and get the better of the mutants that lurk in the shadows, we will have a renewed arsenal at our disposal, including new weapons and equipment designed specifically to give us a concrete chance of salvation.
