CD Projekt RED announces the remake of the first The Witcher, developed on UE5

At the beginning of October, the Polish studio CD Projekt RED had announced its ambitious future development plans, and among them included a project of The Witcher called "Canis Majoris" and developed by an external studio formed by veterans of the franchise; today we discover that this project is a remake of the first The Witcher, in development on the Unreal Engine 5 engine.

The Witcher Remake will be a modern reimagining of 2007's The Witcher, the first game in CDPR's acclaimed trilogy of role-playing games. The title will be built from the ground up with Unreal Engine 5 technology and will use the same tools that CDPR is creating for the new saga of The Witcher. The project is currently in the early stages of development at Fool's Theory, a role-playing studio that employs several veteran developers who have previously worked on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, while CDPR is providing creative oversight.

For now there are no dates or other information about the game; we just have to wait for future updates!
