4A Games reminds us that the Next-Gen update of METRO Redux is available from today, which brings renewed graphics, enhanced performance and a series of optimizations designed for modern platforms to the current hardware, all at no additional cost for those who already own the games.

The update concerns both chapters of the collection, METRO 2033 Redux and METRO Last Light Redux, and their respective owners will be able to download it for free. On the technical front we will be able to choose between a native 4K at 60 FPS and a 4K upscaled to 120 FPS, the latter mode that requires a compatible TV or monitor to be fully exploited. This is accompanied by visual improvements and platform-specific optimizations, the detailed list of which is contained in the full release notes published on the official channels of the series.

On February 4, 2027, METRO 2039 arrives, a new chapter in the franchise in which we will play the role of the Stranger. For those who have been following the series for years, the update is the right opportunity to rediscover one of the most celebrated narrative FPS franchises on the gaming scene; for those who have never approached it, it represents the ideal entry point to get to know the world, characters and events that have defined the saga before tackling the new episode.
