Microsoft and Rare announce goldeneye 007 remaster

Microsoft and Rare today announced a long-rumored project: the remaster of GoldenEye 007, a cult stealth-shooter released in 1997 on Nintendo 64. The game, soon to be released (also in Game Pass, of course) but for now without a date, has been recreated to keep the original charm unchanged and adapt it at the same time to the needs of modern players.

In GoldenEye 007 players will lead James Bond on a mission to prevent the devastating power of the GoldenEye satellite from being unleashed on the world. The classic campaign mode, peculiar difficulty levels and chaotic cheat codes will all make their return, as will the iconic split-screen local multiplayer mode for up to four players.

The original experience has been updated with improved controls (including dual analog stick support), native 16:9 resolution up to 4K Ultra HD (where supported), a constant refresh rate, and a full set of lenses to unlock.

In addition to being available in game pass, the game will also be included for free in the Rare Replay collection for all who own it.

We leave you to the announcement teaser and a set of images.
