Microsoft confirms: Xbox and Behtesda conferences at E3 will become one event

One of the questions that fans asked themselves after Microsoft'sacquisition of Bethesda is whether the two large areas of video game production that now make up the Xbox area, namely Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda, would continue to have separate conferences at major fairs such as E3.

Today comes Matt Booty, director of Xbox Game Studios, to clarify the matter: at the newspaper French Le Figaro Booty revealed that atE3 the Xbox conference will join on the same stage both XGS and Bethesda, thus showing us all the titles in development by Microsoft for the Xbox ecosystem.

This means the conference could last about an hour and a half: last year the Xbox Showcase lasted an hour, while the Bethesda conference on 30 minutes. By adding up the two appointments, you're likely to easily reach the 90-minute event.

But that's not all: Matt Booty also made other revelations to the French newspaper, explaining that the pandemic has impacted the titles in development at XGS studios a lot (not speaking for Bethesda) bringing development delays in a bit of all games, and confirming that Bethesda will maintain its autonomy in terms of marketing , communication and international offices, without interference from Microsoft.

The most interesting information, however, is that all studios, both XGS and Bethesda, are guaranteed complete creative freedom over what they want to achieve, and that no decision is made based on the metrics of use of the Game Pass. Booty explained that Microsoft does not want games to be created based on what might or may not work in the Pass, but solely on the basis of the creativity and aspirations of the various studios; a very different model from that adopted by Netflix, which instead uses the statistics of the service heavily to decide which productions to finance and which series to close.

We just have to wait for the announcement of the xbox conference date!
