IO invites us to return to the world of 007 First Light with the free Extended Operations DLC
The most important novelty is undoubtedly the New Game+, which is unlocked after completing the campaign at any difficulty level. We will thus be able to relive the story of Bond starting from the beginning or from any of the checkpoints already completed, keeping all the clothes and gadgets unlocked and then choosing the look that best represents us.
The completion of the campaign also opens the door to difficulty 00, designed for those looking for a real test of their skills as a secret agent. The changes concern both combat and stealth phases and social encounters: enemies will notice bodies and anomalies more quickly, some types of guards will be replaced by more difficult variants and we will not be able to use gadgets under the gaze of a sentinel. Clashes will become decidedly more punishing, with two shots enough to knock us out, narrower windows for parries and side dodges and a lower accumulation of agency during fights. However, no one will force us to combine the two things: once unlocked, custom clothes and gadgets can be used in a new round of the campaign also on Easy, Normal or Hard level, not only in 00 mode.
To make life more complicated, one of the two additions to the gameplay will also take care of it. Throwing enemies off a ledge, one of the fan-favorite techniques, will no longer be exclusive to Bond: opponents will also be able to do it with him, so we will have to pay close attention. The other novelty concerns a greater fidelity of the animations related to the weapons, which makes both Bond's movements and the behavior of the weapons while handling them more precise.
On the TacSim front, the Valhalla Protocol content finally arrives, already anticipated in the game at launch. These are four missions that will put us behind the wheel of the ultra-modern Aston Martin Valhalla in the beautiful Slovak mountains, both day and night, each with its own challenges. The car will be equipped with the same arsenal used by Bond in the main campaign, which we will have to use to eliminate targets, earn time bonuses and get the best possible score.
We will also return to The Pearl, the Vietnamese luxury resort, with a new TacSim mission in which we will have to infiltrate a guarded villa to retrieve confidential documents. This time the entire property will be explorable, including the roof, while the interiors of the villa have been redesigned to offer more possibilities for stealth. Finally, all TacSim missions will provide us with the entire arsenal of the main campaign.
Then comes one of the most requested features by players, namely a complete Photo Mode. With the simple press of a button we will be able to freeze the action at any time and manage every aspect of the shot: from the visibility of the interface and the pose of the characters to the position of the camera and the adjustments of the lens, passing through brightness and post-processing filters up to the options for background and logo. Tools that will allow us to immortalize the reinterpretation of the story of Bond in every corner, from the chessboards of the Grand Carpathian to the neon-lit streets of Aleph.
We leave you now to the trailer of Extended Operations, enjoy!
