EA Access changes name: from Tuesday it will be called EA Play

EA today announced that, to unify the branding of EA Access and EA Origin, from Tuesday, August 18, the subscription service dedicated to EA titles will be called EA Play, keeping the features seen so far unchanged. Below is the full statement.

EA Access and Origin Access game subscription services will have a new name and look starting August 18. EA Access and Origin Access Basic will become EA Play, while Origin Access Premier will be EA Play Pro. The usual incredible benefits (access to a library of the best titles, early access trial versions and a 10% discount on your subscription) aren't going anywhere. In fact, in the coming months we'll be adding even more, starting with exclusive in-game challenges and monthly rewards for members on selected titles.

Why EA Play?

EA Play puts you at the center of the experience. Transferring all the benefits into a single brand is an important step in streamlining our services, making sure that being a member of EA Play is the best way to play.

What do I get with EA Play?

As we mentioned earlier, members will be able to access in-game challenges and exclusive rewards, unlock special content for members only, play early-access trial versions of brand new titles, get instant access to a collection of our favorite series and best titles, and save 10% on EA digital purchases, from full games to DLCs. But what is challenges, rewards and exclusive content?

This varies from title to title, but we're talking about offers like early access challenges and rewards like Ultimate Team packages, exclusive cosmetics, and more. Make sure your EA account's email preferences are turned on, so you'll be among the first to know what's available for your favorite titles like Madden NFL 21, FIFA 21, and Star Wars™: Squadrons with your subscription. You can also visit our game sites and EA.com news page for updates.

What about the annual EA Play event?

You might know about the annual live event formerly called EA Play, which has now also changed its name to Direct of EA Play. It's a showcase dedicated to sharing the latest game updates and the latest EA news with our global community. EA Play's Live includes a multitude of experiences from world premieres and game updates, to fun ways for players and the community to interact with EA's hit games.
