Xbox Series X marketing plans revealed: new months, new in-house studios, more

After the announcement of the Xbox Series X gameplay revelation event for this Thursday, Xbox marketing chief Jerret West explained what marketing plans are designed to keep the new console in the spotlight until the launch date, which West confirms is still scheduled for the end of the year along with the release of Halo Infinite, also confirmed at that time.

Before moving on to all the information released, an interesting note: Jerret West has been at Microsoft since the end of 2019 and is the author of the current and very effective Xbox marketing campaign, characterized by a constant release of information and aimed at always keeping the level of discussion around the new console high, a campaign praised by many and in stark contrast to the long silences of the competition. West is not in his first job at Microsoft, however: prior to his long tenure as director of marketing at Netflix and American Express, the executive had been director of marketing at Xbox from 2008 to 2011,what we could probably see as the Xbox golden age, which resulted in a great growth in popularity of Xbox 360. The results you're having now with Xbox Series X won't surprise us, so!

Now to the most interesting information: West explains that things are going well on Xbox, all 15 studios are hard at work on new games coming to Series X that Game Pass, and especially confirms that, at the end of the year, Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud will be merged into one service, although it's early to know the details (will it be included in the Ultimate Pass at the current price? Will there be a new "Platinum" plan that will include xCloud at a higher price? we don't know at the time).

As for marketing plans, West explains that Microsoft will start keeping Xbox fans up-to-date with a series of monthly announcements that will take place between now and the console launch and that will be grouped under the name "Xbox 20/20"– these can be both classic live events, that normal news releases via news sites: the first of these is the Inside Xbox on Thursday, then there will be a news release in June and an event in July in which the first party titles in the works at Xbox Game Studios will finally be revealed.

West also revealed that, during these monthly appointments, new Xbox Game Studios will be announced, which will then add to the 15 already present and that will further increase the Xbox team's game production power. Is it time to welcome some Japanese studios? We hope so!

So great news for all Xbox fans: having ads every month from here to the console launch will not only keep us all glued to the screen for a long time, but it also shows that Microsoft has a lot to say and tell on the console about its games, and you won't be afraid to do so!

West also said that there will be a tweet from Aaron Greenberg that Thursday's live broadcast will last less than an hour, that in June the ads will be made differently than the Inside Xbox live (probably via the release of news), and that for the "big show" in July related to the first party games we will take a trip around the world to visit the studios of all XGS teams.

In short, exciting times await us: stay with us for all the news in the meantime enjoy the new official animation of the Xbox logo with a new background audio:
