Ubisoft: Beyond Good and Evil 2 is alive and well, it's going to be an amazing title
In a period of profound internal changes for Ubisoft, characterized by a restructuring that has divided the development teams into autonomous "creative houses", it has been confirmed that the Beyond Good and Evil 2 team has been assigned in its entirety to one of these new entities. This is excellent news, considering the publisher's recent determination to cancel numerous projects in development, including the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The fact that the project has been maintained confirms not only the great desire to complete it, but also the fact that the results achieved so far by the team are very promising.
To reassure us about the state of the work, creative director Fawzi Mesmar intervened directly. Through an official statement, Mesmar clarified that his team and the project have not been affected in the slightest by the recent cuts and organizational changes that have affected other sectors of the company. While expressing regret for the colleagues affected by the cancellations, the director reiterated that the team is totally focused and committed to creating an extraordinary game that we fans will finally be able to appreciate.
The story of this very ambitious title began back in 2008, and then returned forcefully to the spotlight in 2017, although it remains to date without an official launch window. Over the years, the project has had to deal with the farewell of its original creator, Michel Ancel, and several internal tensions related to the management of development. Despite the huge amount of financial resources absorbed and the presence in the catalog of licenses with enormous commercial weight such as Assassin's Creed or Rainbow Six, Ubisoft continues to bet on the return of this universe, which on paper promises to be an extremely interesting space adventure. We just have to wait to find out when we can finally see the game in action, hoping that the long wait will be rewarded by an adventure that lives up to expectations.
