Control: Remedy works on optimization for less powerful consoles, no plan for HDR

The launch of The new Title of Remedy, Control, has not been without controversy: while many reviews, like ours, have praised the title without noticing technical issues particularly penalizing because it plays on PCs or consoles more Powerful, owners of PS4 and Xbox One base have complained of major performance issues, with noticeable frame-rate declines.

In this regard, Remedy spoke today on the official website of the game explaining that it is working on several improvements: first the development team is focusing onoptimizing performance onconsoles , Explaining, however, that this will be a rather long and challenging process. In addition to this, the team will introduce an option to turn off motion blur and fix the map display that sometimes does not show the floor plan of the layer in which we are located.

Bad news for those hoping for a future introduction of HDR support: unfortunately it has been discarded in post-launch development plans in favor of other features, such as photo mode and future content. This is not surprising, since adding HDR to a title is not very simple and requires not only overhauling the game engine but also regenerating many assets.

We do not know for when these changes are planned; Meanwhile, Remedy explains that next week it will reveal its post-launch contentplan, with a series of DLCs that will add new missions and stories to the game. Stay with us to find out more!
