Oddworld Inhabitants has announced a new installment in the Oddworld series, to be released in 2017. The game, titled Oddworld: Soulstorm , is a direct sequel to the original game Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty and continues with the adventures of wacky Abe after he freed his friends.

Developers have mentioned something about the narrative plot, which will see Abe and his friends without supplies, wander about looking for a new place to call home. Until they encounter a mysterious new BREW, which could undermine their newfound freedom. Oddworld Inhabitants promises a story more dark, than in previous chapters, with new features and a new cinematic unreleased for the series.

Lone Lanning , creator of genuine said: " there was a deeper story, darkest and most sinister that we never told. Soulstorm gives us the opportunity to tell this story from a very different perspective. Abe has a long way to go and there will be many opponents waiting for him: Soulstorm will travel more difficult and heavy for him ";
