Goodbye 2013, 2014 welcome!

Here we come to the end of another year, proved extremely important to players with the arrival of the all-too-awaited new console generation, and therefore also for MondoXbox because of the excitement and efforts from all of us to follow the launch of Xbox One.

It was a tumultuous year: the initial announcement of the console, an E3 dominated by harsh criticism from players against the Microsoft DRM system, the now historic about-face from the House of Redmond and finally the launch of the new console and its games. We at MX, nothing but amateurs like you, we have lived with great emotions, often contrasting: perplexity for the first announcements of MS and relief to find a safer route, travels to Los Angeles and Cologne to try with all the news and also the ferment for the launch of our sister site dedicated to Sony, MondoPlay . And all this without forgetting the beautiful titles released on the Xbox 360, we have kept company with high quality gaming often throughout the year.

It is time to take stock of the year just ended as usual with some numbers. In 2013 we received 7 million visits from 1.7 million to different users, for a total of 21 millions of pageviews. All this thanks to a large number of content made daily by our staff : in the course of the year we published News 3879 , 95 reviews and 69 articles of deepening of special offers and previews. And speaking of reviews, the highest rating was the 10 awarded to Grand Theft Auto V while the lowest was the 2 of Fast & Furious: Showdown .

But without our community, fed daily by all of you, we wouldn't be anything! And this year we have amazed posting 54,000 comments to news, opening 2,466 new threads and 120,450 posts in our forums, bringing our Facebook page to 19,200 Likes and follows us in 2,160 on Twitter .

And want to know what were the hottest news of the year, the most commented by all of you? It is not difficult to guess. Here are the Top 10:

  1. Microsoft rethinks: no more DRM on Xbox One
  2. Xbox One: revealed full details on connectivity, and used licenses, privacy
  3. Xbox One: games, second hand market online and obligatory, though not always-on
  4. Microsoft: no intention on our part to release a free Kinect Xbox One
  5. Xbox One: retail sources explain how will the sale of used shops
  6. Don Mattrick: who doesn't have an internet connection you can choose Xbox 360
  7. Xbox One comes out in November at a price of 499 Euro
  8. The Creative Director of Microsoft Studios defends the assumption always-online for Xbox 3
  9. Xbox One: additional clarification on the removal of DRM

And if this is what has characterized the 2013 for MondoXbox and for all of you, we are more than confident that 2014 will be just as exciting! Incoming titles during the year are Xbox and Xbox 360 One, with many extremely prominent outputs expected by fans. Needless to rattle off the usual names, now you know them well, and a look at our list of upcoming releases (now filterable for Xbox/Xbox 360 One) can refresh your memory.
