Microsoft: in the future, developers will be able to use more powerful GPU's

Eurogamer and Digital Foundry had the chance to interview two of the microprocessor designers of Xbox One , and from this chat is out interesting information: today the console reserves 10% of GPU clock cycles to run in various security processes necessary to the operating system as needed for Kinect graphic capabilities and rendering parts of parts that are not part of the game as the visible areas in Snap Modefor example, where we can see a frame with television programs while we're playing.

The designers explain that the occupation of that percentage of CPU is a precautionary measure to ensure that it is operating system processes that games can turn smoothly without be bothered: you are still studying future solutions will allow developers to access securely and without impacting system performance even this extra 10%, allowing for a bit of extra processing power.

We do not know when and in what games we will see the first benefits of this, but this is yet another confirmation of the fact that, in the years after launch, we'll certainly increasingly performing both games because of a greater knowledge of the hardware by developers thanks to these kinds of optimizations performed by Microsoft.
