Crystal Dynamics has announced the long-awaited return of one of the most beloved action-adventure sagas, revealing that Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered will arrive on our consoles in just over two weeks, on March 3rd.

The title, developed in collaboration with PlayEveryWare, will allow us to immerse ourselves again in the dark fantasy world of Nosgoth in a completely renewed guise. During the adventure we will have control of two legendary entities, the vampire Kain and his betrayed lieutenant Raziel, two powerful protagonists linked by the millennial conflict between destiny and free will. Each of them will offer unique abilities, perspectives, and fighting styles. During our journey we will have to explore ruined cities, imposing fortresses and ancient temples, facing new enemies and solving complex environmental puzzles.

To modernize the experience of the classic originally released in 2003, the development team worked on numerous technical aspects. We will be able to enjoy high-definition graphics with completely updated character models, textures and environments, while maintaining total freedom to switch in real time from the modern to the classic visual appearance. In addition, to make exploration and combat more in line with current standards, we will be able to choose whether to face the action with the traditional fixed camera or take advantage of a brand new third-person camera designed specifically for modern platforms.

This definitive re-release will also include a wide range of bonus content that is very interesting for long-time fans. In fact, we will find a photographic mode, a section dedicated to reading and deepening the lore, alternative skins for the characters, as well as unpublished content and real "lost levels" cut from the original game of the time.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered is already available for pre-order in two versions. The Standard Edition is offered at 24.99 Euros, while the Deluxe Edition, at a cost of 29.99 Euros, adds three classic comics in digital edition and a special playable demo of "The Dark Prophecy", a title in the series that was in the works but never finished. Finally, all those who decide to pre-order the game will receive the exclusive "Shifter Skin Pack", containing aspects for the protagonists inspired by the original concept from which the entire Soul Reaver saga came to life.
