Halo Campaign Evolved: New information from Halo Studios
The global launch of Halo: Campaign Evolved is set for July 28, 2026. However, by purchasing the Premium Edition or the Collector's Edition, we will have an early access of five days, being able to start playing and even freely streaming our matches as early as July 23 simultaneously around the world. For collectors interested in physical editions for XBOX, it has been confirmed that the box will regularly include the game disc.
As for the skins of the Foundry Armoury Pack, these will be automatically unlocked upon installation if we make the digital pre-order before the official launch. In the standard physical versions, the code will be printed on the receipt by participating retailers, while in the Collector's Edition it will be included directly inside the Steelbook to be redeemed on the XBOX store. Finally, those who love to play on the go will be happy to know that the title has received the highest certification for optimization on Windows-based portable devices .
From a gameplay point of view, important improvements to the AI of the Campaign have been confirmed compared to the original and also to the versions recently shown to content creators during the XBOX Showcase. The development team has in fact dedicated the last few weeks to further refining the behavior of the enemies.
Playing in cooperative, moreover, we will have total control over friendly fire, which can be activated or deactivated at will by the team leader. In addition, a highly appreciated feature already seen in Halo Infinite will return: the ability to leave weapons with our companions at any time, without necessarily having to exchange them for an object on the ground.
Content creation lovers will be able to indulge themselves with the Machinima mode, included by default for all players and activated with a simple combination of keys without the need to unlock anything. Thanks to this function we will be able to use a free camera, lower our weapons and even control our Spartan while using the freecam. All this can be combined with the deactivation of the user interface or specific skulls to capture unique videos and images. And as for pure fun, the team has kept intact the original physics that have always distinguished the series. We will be able to launch crates and vehicles to reach new heights and, combining these actions with funny skulls such as Boom, Cowbell and Bandana, we will generate crazy results to say the least.
Speaking of skulls, the developers have clarified how the infamous LASO (Legendary All Skulls On) challenge will work in Halo: Campaign Evolved. Since the total skulls amount to forty-two and some would conflict with each other or make the experience too mundane, the mode and its related objective will be based on a curated selection of activated skulls. The team has carefully selected the modifiers to keep the spirit of this daunting challenge intact and will show it all in action in a live broadcast before launch. However, you will have to be careful with the use of difficulty modifiers: although they allow you to obtain the simplest objectives, their use by any team member will block the unlocking of objectives designed to be more challenging.
