onami has unveiled the launch date of the new adventure platformer developed by the guys from the French independent studio ZDT Studio: Darwin's Paradox! will arrive on our consoles starting April 2nd, but we can dive right into this new experience thanks to a Metal Gear-themed playable demo just released on the Xbox store.

In the game, we'll take on the role of a cunning octopus named Darwin, embarking on a wild story-driven odyssey with the goal of returning to the safety of the ocean. During our journey we will have to overcome complex platforming levels using the cephalopod's natural abilities to our advantage: we will be able to camouflage ourselves with the surrounding environment, use the suction cup tentacles to move skillfully and spray inkjets to disorient threats and distract predators. The entire adventure is characterized by a fascinating visual style, strongly inspired by modern animated films.

If you are impatient to test the innovative mechanics of Darwin's Paradox!, you can download the free demo now: this version also provides us with a nice surprise in a tactical key: for a part of the level we can make the protagonist wear the exclusive "Snake" skin, a clear and fun tribute to Metal Gear Solid. This special costume will then be unlockable in the form of an Easter Egg also in the full game.

Finally, we would like to point out that pre-orders are already officially open. Those who decide to pre-order the title before the launch in early April will receive two extra costumes as a bonus, called "Psyched" and "Dotted", perfect for further customizing the appearance of our unusual tentacled hero.
