During gamescom, publisher CULT Games and developer White Owls Inc. revealed in a trailer that Hotel Barcelona, the surreal and bloody side-scrolling roguelite born from the minds of iconic Japanese creators SUDA51 (No More Heroes, Lollipop Chainsaw) and SWERY (Deadly Premonition), will be launched on September 26th.

In this adventure, which mixes action and roguelite mechanics in a real fever dream, we will wake up in a twisted hotel that has fallen into the hands of a group of serial killers. Here we will play the role of Justine, a young federal agent with an ancestral monster that possesses her brain. Featuring psychedelic anime-style graphics, designed by the artists behind hits such as Chainsaw Man, Persona and Final Fantasy VII Remake, our goal will be to escape this nightmare and defeat the new and ruthless management of the hotel, made up of brutes, psychopaths and criminals from all over America.

Fortunately, in this reimagining of the roguelite genre, death is not the end, but only the beginning. In fact, we will be able to take revenge on our opponents thanks to the "Slasher Phantoms", an army of spirits that imitate our actions of previous games. As we progress, we'll build a lethal arsenal by unlocking nearly 100 weapons and exchanging the experiences we've gained in the hotel for upgrades that can change gameplay. By keeping the carnage high relentlessly, we will be rewarded with all the power of Dr. Carnival, the ancient evil that lurks in our minds.

To accompany everything there will be an exceptional soundtrack, which includes original songs by the legendary Yuji "TECHNOuchi" Takenouchi (Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake) and other artists. We leave you with the new trailer and a set of images.
