Resident Evil Requiem: a long gameplay video from Japan

After a first taste at Opening Night Live, a new gameplay video of Resident Evil Requiem has now emerged, which finally shows us something more substantial. The footage, published by the Japanese magazine Famitsu, focuses on the protagonist Grace Ashcroft, chased by a frightening creature.

In the video, which you can view at the bottom of the news, we see Grace hunted by an imposing and terrifying female creature. Armed only with a lighter to make our way through the darkness of creepy corridors and rooms, we will have to escape and find a hiding place to safety. The tension is palpable, also because the monster seems able to suddenly appear in front of us or break down doors to reach us, keeping us constantly under pressure. If the creature manages to get too close, it can also grab and bite us.

The sequence shows how the only momentary salvation is represented by well-lit areas. When Grace manages to reach a lighted room, in fact, the creature cannot follow her, as the light seems to have an effect on her skin. This game mechanic confirms a leak that emerged earlier, according to which this "stalker" does not tolerate bright light, suggesting that we will have to use the environment to our advantage to survive. Another rumor had previously suggested that the monster is none other than Alyssa Ashcroft, the mother of the protagonist.

The final part of the video shows us Grace in a completely different room, turned upside down and stained with blood, as she climbs on a table to retrieve a screwdriver from a toolbox, an object that will evidently be useful for her to continue. We take this opportunity to remind you that, according to other rumors, the next remakes of the Capcom saga will concern Code Veronica and Zero, with a release scheduled for 2027/2028.

We leave you to the video, enjoy!
