Asus and Xbox: an "extraordinary" new controller is coming, revealed at gamescom

The collaboration between Asus and Xbox, which has already seen the announcement of the two ROG Xbox Ally PCs/handheld consoles, seems destined to continue. Asus/ROG has in fact published a short teaser trailer announcing the arrival of a new Xbox controller defined as "extraordinary", the announcement of which is expected for next week's gamescom .

In the short teaser, which we show you below, Asus suggests that "something extraordinary is coming", showing us a fragment of an Xbox controller that is instantly recognizable but with the distinctive ROG logo in evidence.

Although it is impossible to grasp every detail from the short video, we can see how it is an evolution of the standard Xbox controller. A ROG logo with RGB lighting stands out in the center, while the Xbox button appears smaller than usual. The Share and Start buttons also have a new design and are flanked by two additional front buttons. If you look closely, you can also see a couple of extra buttons positioned near the grips.

The new pad could be an evolution of the previous ROG Raikiri Pro, an Xbox controller that boasted a built-in OLED display, tri-mode connectivity and extensive customization options via Asus' Armoury Crate software. We can speculate that this new model includes analog sticks with "Hall Effect" to eliminate drifting and all the features you would expect from a professional controller. We just have to wait for gamescom to find out all the details. Here is the video!
