The Japanese studio Grasshopper Manufacture today announced Romeo is a Dead Man, an "ultra-violent sci-fi" action game that represents the developer's first new intellectual property in ten years, as well as the new work of the multifaceted designer Suda 51. The title is expected in 2026 on consoles and PC.

The game's protagonist, Romeo Stargazer, is a man suspended between life and death, saved from a temporal paradox that has shattered the space-time continuum due to a scientific experiment. Now, as FBI Special Agent Space-Time "Dead Man" and equipped with a mask called Dead Gear, Romeo will be tasked with hunting down space-time's most wanted fugitives across multiple universes.

Defined as the bloodiest action game ever created by Grasshopper Manufacture, in Romeo is a Dead Man we will be able to alternate the use of firearms and swords, exploiting the power of enemies against them to annihilate evil hordes. We will find ourselves immersed in a level design defined as "ridiculously intelligent", which will see us jump back and forth between the real world and subspace, facing incandescent battles. When the situation becomes particularly critical, we can unleash "Bloody Summer", an instant-kill special attack that uses the blood accumulated by enemies to turn the tide of the fight.

Romeo's hunt for space-time fugitives will end up intertwined with the search for his mysteriously missing girlfriend, Juliet. To find out how these mysteries will unfold and if Romeo will finally be able to "see the tears of time", we just have to wait for further details and the release of the game.
