During TennoCon 2022, the annual fair dedicated to Warframe, Digital Extremes made an important announcement: the main team that designed and built the famous sci-fi GaaS has started to deal with a new project, this time with a dark fantasy theme: Soulframe.

While a team of younger developers will take care of continuing support and development on Warframe, the veterans of the Canadian studio will dedicate themselves to the realization of the new title, which will share the "live service" philosophy and the focus on the cooperative PvE gameplay of the sci-fi title but bringing us into a dark world in which the white weapon fights are the masters, with slower and "heavier" clashes.

The term "soul" in the title obviously recalls the souls-like genre created by From Software, and the developers explain that, while Elden Ring is a source of inspiration for the game, the gameplay could end up being very different: the game is still at the beginning of development and many things can change and be revised. This also means that it will be several years before you can see it in action.
