[UPDATED] Rumor: Microsoft is working on VR support for Xbox Series X | S?

Update: Microsoft has informed us that the message displayed, relating to a VR headset, is due to a localization error,as we ourselves had assumed. Here's the official statement:" The description in this error message is inaccurate due to a localization bug. Console VR is not our priority right now."

ORIGINAL NEWS: It was before the launch of the new consoles that Phil Spencer had said he was interested in VR but that he would only realize it when the time was ripe, after which nothing was known about Virtual Reality on Xbox. Recently, however, we at MondoXbox have stumbled upon a clue that makes us think that something boils in the pot.

Last week, Microsoft provided us with the new Xbox Wireless Headset in advance so we could test it, and first after connecting it, the console asked us to update it. To our surprise, however, instead of the message "The headset needs to be updated", you have seen what you see in the image above, bearing "The VR headset needs to be updated", followed by the words " An update is available for the VRheadset" and " UpdateVR viewer".

It is obvious that this is an error, also because then confirming the update started the normal update of the firmware of the headphones, but what does a vr headset update dialog do to us, moreover completely localized in Italian?

That Microsoft is secretly working on support for VR headsets on Xbox, and by mistake, this part of the interface has been tied to updating headphones?

There is, however, another explanation - perhapsthe most rational and plausible. Someone, translating that part of the interface from English, translated "Headset" into "VR Headset" without knowing that you were actually talking about normal headphones and not a VR Headset.

We await updates on this from Microsoft.
