Koei Tecmo announced on Twitter that the release of the new Musou Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires, originally scheduled for early 2021, has been postponed to a later date. The tweet contains a message from the Omega Force development team, where they apologize for the delay by specifying that they are working hard to offer the best possible game and stating that a new launch window will be announced in future updates.

Announced in September during the Tokyo Game Show 2020, it has been confirmed that the game will arrive on Xbox Series X . The title focuses on siege battles and skirmishes within fortresses, renouncing the open world of the previous game.
