Borderlands 3: Gearbox announces free upgrade for next-gen consoles

Gearbox announced at the PAX Online event that Borderlands 3 will receive a free update to the next-gen consoles that will introduce 4K and 60 fps into single player mode (and probably 1440p and 60 fps on Xbox Series S) as well as support for 4-player local split-screen multiplayer. On the next-gen and current gen consoles will also come the split-screen airport for 2 players.

The study has not yet anticipated when this update will be ready, so we await further news on this. It has also been announced that cross-play support will arrive in 2021 that will allow Xbox and PlayStation players to play with each other.
