CESA, the organization of Japanese video game manufacturers, announced that due to the ongoing pandemic and the restrictive measures needed to keep it under control the Tokyo Game Show was canceled. The historic event, the scene of major announcements by Japanese studios, will not be held in September as planned, but organisers explain that an online event will be held in its place, details of which have not yet been released.

The TGS is just the latest in a series of cancellations of major annual video game events such as E3, gamescom and Paris Game Week; we expect, however, that it is not the last and it is not said that we will not skip our Milan Games Week,even if it is scheduled in October; will obviously depend on the levels of spread of the virus that will be there in that period.
