Halo Infinite: 343 Industries removes the Creative Director, who then leaves the company

There are changes taking place in the leadership team of 343Industries, ahead of the last year of development of HaloInfinite; The US website Kotaku learned that a few weeks ago the studio removed Tim Longo, Creative Director of the game (and formerly Creative Director of Halo 5: Guardians), from his post by assigning him another role, which convinced Longo this week to leave the studio.

Longo had joined the studio in 2013, having worked several years earlier in similar roles for titles such as Tomb Raider Anniversary and Star Wars: RepublicCommando. When questioned by Kotaku, Microsoft confirmed that he had recently made a change of roles within the team: one was Longo's, but did not specify what role he had been placed in, while it was the move of Executive Producer Mary Olson that Now he has the role of Lead Producer for the Game Campaign. Microsoft explains, however, that the creative vision and production of Halo Infinite remains firmly in the hands of studio head Chris Lee (ex-Bungie, formerly Lead Producer of Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST), but without clarify who will now be assigned the role of CreativeDirector.

Beyond the reasons that led Microsoft/343 to remove the previous Creative Director of the game, one has to wonder whether this will result in a change of direction in the artistic design of the title compared to the past; it is true that the bulk of the game is now realized (the title has 4 years of development with only one year left), but surely there is room to change the artistic vision of the game. But it is not said that 343 Industries actually wants a change of this type after all the two trailers seen so far have been very positively received by the public, especially since they suggest a return to the classic atmosphere of the series. We just have to wait to see more of the game, to understand what its final shape will be: we remind you that Halo Infinite is expected by the end of 2020 on both Xbox One and on the new Project Scarlett console.
