Developer: Microsoft opened the checkbook in search of exclusive
The developer, responding to a user who wondered if Microsoft had the funds to finance the development of many new games says:
" Without going into too much detail, I know for a fact that Microsoft has opened the checkbook and is actively seeking both large and smaller titles that we can acquire as exclusive Xbox, both temporal and count. "
It therefore appears that, in addition to internal studies development efforts, Microsoft is also trying to beef up the lineup of exclusive Xbox with a number of third-party titles, both indie that triple-A. This is not a new practice for the House of Redmond: Please remember that exclusive Ryse , Rise of the Tomb Raider , Dead Rising 3 and 4 , Ori and the Blind Forest and even Cuphead weren't first party and are been possible thanks to the "checkbook" from Microsoft.
One thing is certain: things start to get more and more interesting in view of E3 2018 where, now that there's no new hardware to be launched, we should have a full focus on the games. We hope that something will be announced-or perhaps leaked--even before June: stay tuned!
