DirectX 12 show at SIGGRAPH and promise a boost in performance
Today at SIGGRAPH, a demonstration of the Intel Conference, were shown the latest official API DirectX 12 with a demo, not related to any video game out there, containing more than 50,000 asteroids moving, each raised on procedural manner, and then with his movements and unique textures. Well, according to reports, there would be a 50% difference between the old and the new DX11 DX12.
The demo runs on tablet Surface Pro 3, also had the ability to switch with a single key between the DX11 and DX12, showing the difference. In terms of "heaviness" than shown, suffice it to say that DX11 mode moving asteroids not exceeded 19fps, while with the DX12 came to 33fps: hence the "boost" given.
Please note that in future Xbox One will be able to support new games that use DirectX 12 and this news does nothing but feed the hopes of all his long-term supporters.
