On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of their horror franchise, the guys from Bloober Team have announced the development of Layers of Fear 3, confirming the suspicions that arose around the mysterious countdown that expired on Valentine's Day.

The timer, which in recent days had intrigued fans thanks to an audio containing the verses of the poem "The Sick Rose" by William Blake, has ended revealing the next chapter of the franchise. To accompany the official announcement of this new evolution of the series we find a phrase as enigmatic as it is disturbing: "Some things never leave the walls. They just learn to wait."

The studio explains that, as per the tradition of the series, in Layers of Fear 3 we will dive into an experience of pure psychological horror, in which we will have to explore the scenarios in first person and solve intricate puzzles. During the game we will be called upon to make important choices that will shape different narrative crossroads, and we will experience first-hand the ways in which a disturbing surrounding environment will affect the mental state of the protagonist. The new production marks a further step forward for a saga born in 2016, expanded by a sequel in 2019 and revived in 2023 with an anthology that rebuilt the first two games from scratch.

The Polish software house, which has worked on over a dozen titles since 2010, thus continues to consolidate its prominent position in the horror genre. In addition to this project, we remind you that the studio is fresh from the acclaimed remake of Silent Hill 2 released in 2024, followed by the excellent Cronos: The New Dawn. Bloober is also currently engaged in the remake of the very first, historic Silent Hill.
