The March update of the Xbox One will introduce Dolby Digital optical output

The system update Xbox One March not only includes all the different improvements that we talked about in depth these days, but also settle a problem that users complain about since the launch of the Xbox One : support for Dolby Digital optical output. So far, in fact, the surround sound on optical cable only supported the DTS format, whereby those who have Hi-Fi systems or headphones with support only DD were forced to switch to the stereo so that you can use.

Now users who are trying to preview the update have discovered that the problem was solved. questioned by Polygon, Albert Microsoft Paintbrush has confirmed the whole thing by saying that at the time of the launch of the new console, due to a programming problem (due to a software error) it had not been possible to implement this feature.

Polygon made some tests with the Astro A40 headset and have managed to send without problems the Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, cambiando properly the settings as shown in the image below. This will open the compatibility to all devices that support Dolby Digital only: definitely great news for many users.
