Double End Announces The Cave for Live Arcade

Double End and Sega officially announced The Cave , a horizontally-scrolling multiplayer adventure out on Xbox Live Arcade in 2013. Written and directed by Ron Gilbert (author of LucasArts adventures of worship as Zak McCracken, Monkey Island, Indiana Jones), The Cave puts us under the command of a team of speleologists improvised and rather ecclettici composed of a scientist, a monk, a Knight and a time traveler intents to explore a sort of underground amusement park.

You can choose up to three characters at once to address different levels, each with unique features that will help us to solve various puzzles. For example, the Knight can summon a guardian angel who protects him from fire and falls. The monk instead may hold your breath underwater indefinitely, an allusion to Guybrush Threepwood?

The game can be completed with any combination of characters but some areas can be explored only by some, such as the Castle you can visit only the Knight in your group. When, during the exploration of the caves there is a vending machine of Grog, you know how the magical touch of Ron Gilbert is present in the game.
