Final Fantasy Resonance is available today, accompanied by the launch trailer
The project has its roots in the mobile world: Final Fantasy Resonance in fact takes up the first story arc of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, but according to Square Enix it should not be considered a simple port. The source material has been refined and reworked from top to bottom to create a complete RPG, with a quality at the height of console productions, all enclosed in retro HD-2D graphics that aim to overcome the limits of traditional pixel art.
The protagonist of the story is Rain, a knight of the kingdom of Grandshelt with uncommon skills, who still finds himself in command of an air squadron at a very young age. At his side will be his childhood friend Lasswell, and together they will lead a varied group of characters on a journey made up of twists and turns, emotionally charged moments and epic clashes. It is an adventure focused on crystals, which brings back historical elements of the saga such as chocobos, espers and airships, as well as some familiar faces to fans, including Cloud, Tidus and the Warrior of Light.
On the gameplay front we will find the classic turn-based combat system of the series, revised in a modern key to be more accessible and at the same time offer greater strategic depth. We will be able to strengthen and customize our group thanks to the Visions, echoes of the most beloved characters of Final Fantasy who will fight alongside us with unique abilities. By identifying the weaknesses of the opponents, we will be able to stun them, collapse their defenses and gain extra turns, and then turn the tide of the clash with the powerful Resonance attacks of the Visions, in cinematic battles in which every tactical choice will have its weight.
In addition to the main story, the game world hides a long series of secrets and secondary activities. Particularly fierce optional bosses await us, a coliseum populated by lethal monsters ready to grant rich rewards to those who manage to defeat them and the Chamber of Arms, in which legendary weapons guard formidable enemies. There will also be the clash with Ultima Weapon, now a fixed presence in the chapters of the series.
In Square Enix's intentions, Final Fantasy Resonance represents the culmination of almost forty years of history of the franchise and is designed to please both long-time fans and those approaching the series for the first time, proposing itself as the ideal entry point for those looking for a great adventure to remember.
We leave you now to the launch trailer, enjoy!
