Ahead of the launch of Echoes of Aincrad, the new long-awaited adventure of Sword Art Online arriving on July 10, Bandai Namco has released a new trailer dedicated to the story of the game, which catapults us directly into the dramatic epilogue of the beta test, showing us the reactions of the ten thousand users who have just been trapped inside the virtual world.

The video shows the moment when the unfortunates become aware of the harsh reality: they are all prisoners of the floating castle of Aincrad and, from this moment on, a game over will result in the loss of life even in the real world. In a chaotic scenario dominated by bewilderment, despair and mutual accusations, we will be called upon to stand as a point of reference for survivors. Taking up our weapon, we will have to fight strenuously to survive, with the ultimate goal of completing the entire experience and restoring freedom to all prisoners.

During our adventure, however, we will not be alone: we will have the opportunity to team up with different allies who will fight and level up alongside us. Among these, historical and beloved faces from the franchise stand out, such as Asuna, Agil and Lisbeth, each characterized by unique special abilities. On the battlefield it will be up to us to choose which tactical role to play: taking advantage of the innovative mechanic of the Switch, we will in fact be able to fluidly switch from an independent offensive to a tactical approach focused on support, allowing us to actively defend our teammates and strategically distribute the damage suffered.
