Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 announced, the hunt for Xenomorphs expands to four players

Daybreak Game Company and Cold Iron Studios, in collaboration with 20th Century Games, have officially unveiled Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, the long-awaited sequel to the survival-tinged third-person co-op shooter. The title will arrive worldwide this summer, just in time to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the famous horror-sci-fi franchise.

This new episode raises the bar of action and terror by bringing four-player co-op mode. In the role of a unit of colonial marines we will be called to take part in what will initially seem like a simple rescue mission, but which will soon turn into a desperate struggle for survival in the darkest corners of the universe.

During the campaign we will have to face not only hordes of Xenomorphs, but also the terrifying horrors of the Pathogen and the fearsome combat synthetics of the Weyland-Yutani. To counter these threats, we will be able to rely on much deeper team dynamics and a vast arsenal of weapons to combine at will. We will also have new and improved character classes available, among which the new Specialist stands out: it is a fully customizable role that will allow us to shape our ideal marine, adapting skills and equipment to our preferred style of play.

Between intense close-quarters clashes in the corridors and real horde-style pitched wars, each mission promises a high challenge rate, enriched by additional modes and new rewards. The developers have emphasized how the team, made up of huge fans of the saga, has worked hard to expand the action into new and immersive environments, offering a raw experience that mixes the chaos of an insect hunt with the constant tension of being hunted.

So we just have to wait for the next summer months to take up the pulse rifles again and dive into the action; In the meantime, we show you below the announcement trailer and the first images.
