Rumor: Microsoft prepares a Game Pass tier with only First Party games
Already earlier in the week, rumors had spread about a possible return of reduced-price options and even the addition of an ad-supported plan for Xbox Cloud Gaming. Now, a further rumor suggests the arrival of a completely new proposal.
According to what was confirmed independently of Windows Central, following the discoveries made on Twitter by the user redphx, the company would be working on a new subscription level, codenamed "Trion". Unlike the already existing plans that we have come to know, this variant would differ enormously for the catalog offered, which would seem to be limited exclusively to Xbox Game Studios first party titles.
Digging into the data, a list of games that should be part of this specific offer has emerged. Among the titles found we find DOOM Eternal, Dishonored 2, Fable Anniversary, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Gears 5, Halo 5, Halo Wars 2, Hellblade, Ori and the Blind Forest, State of Decay 2 and The Elder Scrolls Online.
As always when we are faced with unconfirmed rumors, we invite you to take this information with due precautions until there is an official announcement on the matter. However, it seems very likely that we will see significant changes for the Xbox ecosystem in the not too distant future; We just have to see if these new strategies will be able to give a new impetus to the service.
