During today's Xbox Partner Preview, developer Sluggerfly and Headup announced the release date of Super Meat Boy 3D. The iconic and very difficult platformer is preparing to make the leap into the third dimension on March 31st, when it will land on our consoles and Xbox Game Pass.

In this new adventure we will have to guide the famous cube of meat in a desperate mission to save his girlfriend, made entirely of bandages, from the clutches of an evil fetus in tailcoats inside a jar. The big news obviously lies in the three-dimensional perspective, which will see us engaged in millimetric jumps between circular saws, crumbling caves and burning forests. As per tradition for the franchise, an extreme difficulty awaits us that will require lightning-fast reflexes, inevitably leading us to die countless times as we try to master every single level.

Super Meat Boy 3D promises to keep the precision of the controls that the series is famous for, enriching the experience with epic boss fights and a myriad of secrets to find. In addition to the main paths, we will be able to try our hand at the brutal challenges of the Dark World, designed specifically to test our endurance and skills. All this will be accompanied by a particularly intense soundtrack, designed to be the backdrop to the frenetic gaming sessions that await us.
