Lords of the Fallen II: a trailer shows us the evolution of the kingdom of Umbral
The universe of Lords of the Fallen II is based on the coexistence of two distinct realities that we can cross with the help of the Lantern of Umbral. On the one hand, we'll explore Axiom, the classic dark fantasy kingdom marked by centuries of titanic battles and fallen civilizations, while on the other, we'll face the visceral horror of Umbral, a grotesque mirror world where the laws of physics and death become a disturbing mystery. In this sequel, Umbral is no longer considered simply as the realm of the dead, but as that of the undead: the developers describe it as an open and hungry wound, with a crust now removed that reveals the living flesh underneath, ready to overflow into the world of the living with an unprecedented ferocity.
One of the most relevant innovations concerns the way in which we will perceive the constant danger of this dimension. Instead of a simple linear timer that increases the threat level over time, the world of Umbral will react more organically to our activities, making the sense of danger dynamic and closely linked to our actions. We will have to move through radically different environments and a much wider variety of biomes, which give Umbral a unique and mysterious character, encouraging us to explore despite the terrifying entities that lurk in the shadows, even capable of mutating into even more lethal forms during the clashes.
The combat system promises to be fast and fluid, introducing brutal new possibilities to get the better of your opponents. In fact, we will be able to dismember enemies limb by limb thanks to a new dedicated function and silence them forever with new executions.
Set a thousand years after the fall of the demon god Adyr, the game will see us take on the role of the Lantern Bearer in a realm besieged by malevolent gods and dark magic. We will encounter a vast number of enemies and we will have to overcome spectacular boss battles, challenges that we can face both alone and in a cooperative mode characterized by a shared progression system.
Lords of the Fallen II is expected by the end of the year; We leave you to the new video.
