Starfield: next week we will have news on the future of the series
It seems that the work behind the scenes is already proceeding quickly, as the studio has recently invited several creators to attend exclusive previews related to a massive overhaul of the game. Confirmation then came from social media: responding to an article calling Todd Howard a "visionary", the team joked that Howard's only divinatory power is to predict trajectories in EA College Football 26. In the message, however, the studio took the opportunity to thank the community for their continued feedback, promising to have much more to share next week.
But what should we expect from this full-bodied update? Todd Howard himself has recently dampened some of the enthusiasm, making it clear that we will not be facing a "Starfield 2.0". In short, it seems that this patch will not magically change the mind of those who have not been captured by the game so far. The main goal, it is imagined, will instead be to enrich and expand the experience for all of us who have already loved traveling among the stars since launch, making it even more immersive.
In addition to the general improvements, the hope is to finally receive official news on Terran Armada, the highly anticipated second expansion of the game. Before the game's debut in 2023, we were promised one major expansion per year; however, after the release of Shattered Space, the wait for the second chapter has been prolonged considerably without concrete details.
The rumors leaked so far on Terran Armada speak of a story linked to the fate of the Earth, with a probable return to our home planet, and to a lost terrestrial military fleet that, upon its reappearance, could shake the balance of the Colonized Systems. Since Earth has been uninhabitable for over a century, the existence of an Earth army would be a major twist.
On the gameplay front, however, the rumors about the next update speak of smoother space navigation, which would allow you to fly in real time between planets in the same solar system, and also to land and take off from planets without loading sequences.
In light of these rumors, next week's reveal (for now undated) could represent a real turning point for Starfield. If the new update proves to be rich in content and the next expansion can live up to expectations, there will certainly be excellent reasons for us to return to wearing space suits. Stay tuned!
