XBOX announces plans for Tokyo Game Show 2026, Hideo Kojima relaunches the announcement
The retweet of the legendary game designer is obviously not accidental: Kojima Productions is already working with XBOX on OD, and the relationship between the two realities has just expanded with the agreement that sees XBOX as the new publisher of Physint. It is therefore plausible that Kojima is among the protagonists of the event, perhaps to show something new about one of the two projects. For now there is no official confirmation, but it is a coincidence too obvious to ignore.
The TGS event also comes at a symbolic time for XBOX: the green-cross brand celebrates its 25th anniversary, and the brand's presence in Japan has exceeded two decades. The occasion will serve to celebrate the players, developers and creators who have accompanied this journey. According to XBOX, Japanese and Asian creativity, along with games inspired by the region, has helped shape the identity of the platform over the years. In addition, the number of Japanese developers and publishers with whom it collaborates continues to grow, confirming the importance of this market. The company says it is proud to work with studios capable of evolving genres and with a community that continues to build alongside it at every milestone.
The broadcast will start at 12:00 Italian time and will be hosted by the presenter and influencer Misuzu Araki, who has long been the official face of XBOX in Japan. At the show we will be able to see a selection of games coming to the platform later this year, with exclusive content designed for the TGS, new gameplay and moments built specifically for the event.
We will be able to follow the show live on the official YouTube channel of the Tokyo Game Show and on the US and Japanese XBOX social channels. At the end of the live broadcast, support for many other languages will then be added.
So see you on September 17th to discover all the surprises of the event!
