After the great success of the first chapter, Wishfully Studios and Thunderful have finally announced the launch date of the long-awaited Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf. The platform-puzzle adventure will arrive on March 5, directly in the Xbox Game Pass. And for those who don't want to wait, the developers have confirmed that we will be able to try it in preview thanks to a playable demo from February 11th.

In this new chapter, almost doubled in size compared to the predecessor, we will once again accompany Lana and her faithful companion Mui on a journey through the planet Novo. The story will see us engaged in a struggle against the power dynamics and greed that are dividing the local tribes, trying not only to survive but to fight for the very soul of our home. The bond between the two protagonists will remain the beating heart of the experience, as we will have to explore spectacular biomes ranging from snowy mountains and dense forests to dystopian urban areas and creepy robot graveyards.

In terms of gameplay, Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf introduces more fluid and dynamic movements, allowing us to guide a more mature Lana capable of making wall jumps and faster crossings. We will have to collaborate with Mui by exploiting his powers of control over creatures to solve deep environmental puzzles that are based on physics, timing and observation. The adventure, estimated to last between 6 and 8 hours, will maintain the dialogue-free narrative style of the first chapter, entrusting the story entirely to hand-painted images and the orchestral soundtrack signed by BAFTA-nominated composer Takeshi Furukawa.

Adam Stjärnljus, director of the game, said he was excited to show the fruits of the studio's labor, emphasizing how the experience accumulated with the first title has made it possible to improve every single aspect of this sequel. So we just have to mark the dates of February and March on the calendar to immerse ourselves again in this evocative and surreal science fiction universe.
