Resident Evil Showcase reveals Leon Kennedy's gameplay

As expected, tonight Capcom broadcast the Resident Evil Showcase, an appointment dedicated to Resident Evil Requiem in which game director Koshi Nakanishi explains how the dualism between the two playable characters, Grace Ashcroft and Leon Kennedy, will work.

Nakanishi illustrated how the game will lead us to alternate driving the two characters, involved in separate events but intrinsically linked to the same plot, creating an experience that aims at the final "catharsis" thanks to this alternation.

The two campaigns will offer radically different approaches. The sections in the role of Grace will be focused on anxiety and atmosphere, recalling the style of Resident Evil 2 and 7: here we will have to move discreetly along narrow corridors, taking advantage of stealth kills behind enemies. However, Grace will have access to the "Requiem", a large-caliber pistol capable of eliminating at least two zombies with a single bullet, and will have to manage a revised crafting system that will require us to collect infected blood, thus forcing us to face threats to obtain resources.

On the other hand, Leon's gameplay will be much more action-oriented in the vein of Resident Evil 4, despite having been modernized; Leon will be equipped with a hatchet and we will even be able to collect and use the enemies' weapons, such as chainsaws. In these phases, the damage will be localized, making it essential to target specific parts of the body to get out of the most chaotic situations and carry out violent executions.

One of the most welcome innovations confirmed during the event concerns the freedom of visual choice: in fact, we will be able to change the perspective of the camera from first to third person (and vice versa) at any time. The difficulty levels have also been revealed: in addition to the Casual mode for those who want to enjoy the story, we will have the Standard "Modern" for a balanced experience and the Standard "Classic". The latter is designed for long-time fans, with a difficulty similar to the historical titles of the saga, limited automatic saves during the sections of Grace and the need to use ink ribbons to save the game.

On the narrative front, the director dropped a small bombshell revealing that Leon hides a secret related to "Elpis" that directly concerns the murder of Alyssa, Grace's mother. Among the minor curiosities, we learn that in the game Leon will drive a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT and both protagonists will wear Hamilton watches (which will also be purchasable in reality). The presentation finally confirmed the contents of the Deluxe Edition.

We remind you that Resident Evil Requiem is expected for February 27th; We leave you with the complete video of the event, enjoy!
