GSC Game World today announced the surprise release of a major content update for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, titled Stories Untold. This pack is available for free to all owners of the game and introduces a wide range of narrative innovations, new locations and gameplay improvements.

At the center of this expansion we find a complete new storyline, which revolves around a mysterious signal that is disrupting communications near Malachite, causing disturbing symptoms such as migraines, nosebleeds and hallucinations among stalkers. Investigating this anomaly will take us on a journey that promises hours of new missions full of tension, pushing us into the depths of the Zone to unravel the truth behind the emergency transmission.

The update greatly expands the game map, opening access to new territories such as the "Fairy Tale Pioneer Camp" and the Old Mine located in the Red Forest, places that hide new dangers and discoveries. In addition, the new storyline will take us to revisit familiar areas that have been repopulated for the occasion, including the Junkyard, the Army Warehouses, and the Railroad Depot near Malachite. During our journey we will also meet new characters, each characterized by their own background and specific motivations within this mystery.

Our decisions will have an even more tangible impact on the game world: based on the choices we make, we will be able to determine the birth of a new central hub in a sparsely populated area of the Scorched Forest. If unlocked, this shelter will offer all the essential services, including a technician, a tradesman, a doctor, a guide, and a place for our personal storage. Finally, to face these new threats we will have the GP37V2 at our disposal, a tactical variant of the GP37 rifle designed for precision, equipped with a pre-installed silencer, low magnification optics and limited single or burst fire.
