Techland shows us the brutality of Dying Light: The Beast with a new trailer

Techland today released a new trailer for the highly anticipated Dying Light: The Beast, titled "Blood and Guts." As the title suggests, with this video the Polish studio wants to show us the brutal and raw violence that we will find in the game.

The footage is in fact an uninterrupted montage of the most violent moments of the game, a succession of beheadings, bone-breaking slashes, stabs, rivers of blood and spectacular finishers. Techland's stated ambition is to make the most brutal chapter of the series, but this choice is not an end in itself. According to Franchise Director, Tymon SmektaƂa, this level of violence serves to increase the horror impact and convey the feeling of a real fight for survival, as well as satisfy the thirst for revenge of the protagonist Kyle.

This new frontier of the macabre is made possible by significant technical improvements made to the game engine. Game Director Nathan Lemaire explained that the damage system has been completely overhauled. The number of points on the body of enemies where we can inflict damage, the so-called "Gore-Nodes", has been doubled, as well as the number of wounds and injuries that can be visible on a single opponent. The accuracy of melee attacks has also been improved, with the angle and trajectory of the shot determining what we are going to hit, generating more consistent enemy reactions. We will therefore be able to aim and slash with much greater precision, making each fight a unique and unpredictable spectacle of violence. To top it all off there will be a number of brutal finishers almost tripled compared to the past.

The art team took this matter very seriously to achieve a realistic representation of the blood and wounds, going so far as to conduct extensive research and even recreate the live scenes with an actor and fake blood, as no solution on the market met the required quality standards.

We remind you that Dying Light: The Beast is expected for September 19th; We leave you to the video.
