We have finally entered the week of summer events, what was once "the week of E3", and with it also come the inevitable rumors. Like what Resident Evil 9 would like to present during the Summer Game Fest, on the night of Friday 6 June.

To launch the indiscretion is the insider Dusk Golem, already known for his tips regarding Capcom's horror saga.

Dusk Golem said he was "95% confident" about a reveal from RE9 at Summer Game Fest. While not being able to provide 100% confirmation, the insider spoke of "a lot of rumors" and a certain "ferment" behind the scenes. He also specified that the type of activity he observed is usually a signal that precedes the announcement of a new chapter of Resident Evil. To reinforce this thesis, there would also be a recent increase in activity on Capcom's social accounts, a possible indication of preparations for an imminent announcement.

Already a few days ago, discussing the start of development of Resident Evil 9 as an open-world title, the same insider had mentioned a possible announcement and release window. According to a previous message from Dusk Golem, Resident Evil 9 will "almost undoubtedly be unveiled this year", with a launch scheduled for 2026. At the time, he said he was uncertain whether the unveiling would take place in fiscal 2025 or 2026, but felt confident that there would be no further postponements, given that the game had already suffered two in the past.

As always in these cases, it is good to take this information with due caution. To find out if Capcom will actually unveil Resident Evil 9, we just have to wait for the Summer Game Fest on June 6th!
