Ubisoft brings the sim-managerial Anno 1800 to consoles

Ubisoft today announced the arrival on Xbox Series X|S of the historical city builder / manager Anno 1800: Console Edition: the game will arrive on March 16 and this is the first time, in 25 years of life of the franchise, that a title of the series arrives on consoles.

This new edition of the game is designed specifically for consoles, so it has several improvements. We will find a new user interface completely redesigned, with a radial construction menu easier to use with a pad, while the other elements have been moved to other parts of the screen. We will then find further changes, such as an enlarged regional map to quickly switch between the islands, the option to automatically build roads around the building blocks and the Annopedia, with a lot of useful information on the mechanics and features of the game.

In addition, the game will revive several features developed for the PC version in recent years, such as the statistics screen to keep track of production, population and finances, a day-night cycle to see cities in a completely different light and the cooperative mode to face the challenges of the nineteenth century with friends and family. As on PC, up to 16 players can join together to enjoy multiplayer.

For those unfamiliar, Anno 1800: Console Edition is a real-time strategy and city management game that takes place during the period of the Industrial Revolution and sees us take on the role of a colony leader who must build and manage his own city, trade with other colonies and navigate the seas to expand his empire. Game features include building construction, resource management, navigation, diplomacy, and warfare. Definitely interesting for lovers of "sim-like" games.

We leave you to the announcement trailer and a set of images of the new version: good vision!
