Cyberpunk 2077: CDPR apologizes for problems on old gen consoles, 'big patches' coming soon

Following the problems shown by Cyberpunk 2077 on old gen consoles, especially the basic versions, which we had recently told you about, CD Projekt RED intervened today with a public message in which it apologizes for the mistakes made explain that it will refund the price of the game to anyone, dissatisfied, who wants to return it, both in digital and physical form.

In addition to this, however, the Polish studio explains that it is working hard to solve these problems and that in January and February two "great patches" will arrive to solve most of the problems and make the title much more playable on the Old Gen consoles. Here is the full communiqué with all the details.

Dear players,

first of all, we would like to start by apologizing for not showing the game on old-gen base console before its release and, as a result, not allowing you to make a more informed decision about your purchase. We should have taken more care to make it work better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Secondly, we will fix bugs and crashes and improve the overall gaming experience. The first update cycle has just been released and the next one will arrive within the next 7 days. Expect more, as we will update frequently whenever new improvements become available. After the holidays, we will continue to work: we will release two large patches starting from "Patch 1" in January. This will be followed by "Patch 2" in February. Together, these updates should address the most important issues players face on the latest generation consoles. We will inform you about the contents of each patch before they are published. They won't make it look like the game on old-gen works like on a high-end PC or a next-generation console, but it will be closer to that experience than it is now.

Finally, we would always like everyone who buys our games to be satisfied with their purchase. We would be grateful if you would give us a chance, but if you are not satisfied with the game as it is on the console and do not want to wait for updates, you can choose to refund your copy. For digitally purchased copies, use the PSN or Xbox refund system, respectively. For physical versions, try getting a refund at the store where you purchased the game first. If this is not possible, please contact us at helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com and we will do our best to help you. You can contact us from today until December 21, 2020.

Humbly
Marcin Iwiński, Adam Kiciński, Adam Badowski, Michał Nowakowski, Piotr Nielubowicz, Piotr Karwowski

P.S: Of course, pc players will also receive constant updates to improve the game.
